Preparing for Word Study Test 2 (tomorrow)

Today in class we. . . got a new WS word (tranquility). discussed how tomorrow's test will work. took a pretest over Subject-Verb agreement. (B3 & B4 only) Started presenting the SIRS Initial Research.

Getting our ducks in a row

Yesterday we continued to get housekeeping stuff out of the way.  This will make your E9 experience much easier.  Here's what we did: made popsicle sticks for drawing names went over the jobs for which you will be signing up learned how to do the Word Study squares learned how the Word Study tests work made 4 sections in your binder (Word Study, Conventions, Reading, and Writing) You also got your first Word Study word: Labyrinth (noun)  a maze Tomorrow is your first word study test.  It will be the easiest one of the semester, since you only have one word.   Good luck!

Welcome to English 9!

Today was our first day of English 9.  It was exciting to get to meet everyone!  This blog is where I will list what we did each day.  Use this when you are absent, or even if you were just out of the room for a lesson.  We played Two Truths and a Lie in order to get to know each other.  Then, we went over the syllabus by reading the answers to common questions about E9.  Assignments: W 8/24/17 Bring a book of your choice to class tomorrow for Silent Sustained Reading at the beginning of class.  Have a 3-ring binder, tab dividers, lined paper, and a pen or pencil. F 8/25/17 Word Study Test #1 It's going to be a great year!
